Each individual  project can take approximately 2 to 4 weeks (unless noted).  Full brand projects/packages (brand/print/web) typically take anywhere from 30 business days to 2+ months.  All time estimates are dependent upon the individual project, number/complexity of revisions, client response timeliness, and current booking schedule. A detailed schedule with estimated time & payment milestones will be given to each client upon project start.

1. The Consult

Like any relationship, it all starts with a first date to make sure you're a good match. After your initial inquiry email review, we will set up a 20min phone call. You will be asked some questions regarding your business, vision and goals for your brand development and you get the chance to ask any question that comes to mind. This step will give both parties a chance to get to know one another and make sure you are going to make an awesome team.

2. Booking

If found that we're a great working match, I will put together a formal proposal for our project together and send it your way via email. If everything prepared is approved by you, please sign, scan, and send the proposal back and keep a copy for yourself (if acceptable). All clients are asked to kindly complete their invoice for full or first milestone payment to hold your spot in the Designs By J. Coleman queue.

3. Homework

Since there is typically a wait time between this step and the next, I give you a little homework to prepare for our upcoming project.  I will send you a link to my project questionnaire so you can go through and answer some important questions to insure we are on the same page prior to your project start date.  This questionnaire will provide valuable information for me as I move throughout your design process. With some of the packages, you may also have a small task of gathering pictures of inspiration for your brand which is followed by me creating a "Inspiration Board" to set the direction of the brands identity.

4. Inspire

So your project start date is here and now it’s time to get this party started.  The first step of the branding process is the creation of an inspiration board.  I will study your questionnaire, research, collect your inspiration pictures and create a color palette along with style inspiration that will set the overall tone of your new brand.  Within 5-10 business days of your start date, you will receive your first deliverable and have a chance to review and request up to 2 rounds of revisions until you are in love with the direction.

5. Create

Now that we have established and finalized your inspiration board, I will then get to work on creating the cornerstone of your new brand. The logo design process can take approximately 5 to 10 business days to complete. During this phase you will receive your second deliverable which will consist of a few unique logo concepts designed based on the information given in the initial stages and your approved mood board. Once received, you will have the opportunity to review and request up to 2 rounds of revisions until your are completely pumped about your new logo design. Once we have finalized your logo, allow up 5-10 business days for your next round deliverables that will include (depending on your package) card, flyer, stationary, banner etc. Once you receive your proof please check all spelling etc before approval. You can request up to 2 rounds of revisions until your are completely satisfied with your new design

6. Polish & Deliver

It’s now time to put it all together and create your final deliverable: {drum-roll} your new brand style guide! I will pull in your lovely new logo, color palette and inspiration photos then add in your sub mark, logo variations, social icons, patterns, fonts and any elements into a full branding guide format. You will have a chance to review and request up to 2 rounds of revisions on the final board. Once your approval is received and your final payment is made, I will package up your files and send them to you via email or a convenient Dropbox link for download. Please allow additional 7-10 days from finalized project for printed items to ship (unless noted). Printed items are not ordered until final payment is made.

7. Single Project Design

If you have ordered a single design i.e. flyer, business card etc. Allow up 10 business days for your deliverable. Once you receive your proof please check all spelling etc before approval. You can request up to 2 rounds of revisions until your are completely satisfied with your new design. Once you have approved your design I will send your files to you via email OR Dropbox.

8. Print

I now take your newly designed brand or single project and continue it throughout your print material and social media design (business card, business letterhead/note card and envelopes, stamp, hang-tag, stickers, etc.) to complete your seamless new look. Your files are delivered in print ready form or you can choose to have Designs By J. Coleman manage your print process.
